Timberwolves – Minnesota

Timberwolves!

Timberwolves!

We go to Iowa three times a year for my husband to teach his real estate class at the World Wide College of Auctioneering.

We always fly into Minneapolis and then drive down, but this time we needed to arrive a few days early to meet with a couple of our auctioneers. I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to stay at our fourth Autograph Hotel, the Hotel Minneapolis

I loved it immediately from the distinct sign outside to darkened chic lobby backed with red lighting.  I booked us a regular room with access to the concierge level.  The room was a bit small but the ceilings were high so it gave a feeling of being grander than it was.

We went down to the bar/restaurant (having gotten in pretty late), and they were still serving with a good vibe pulsing throughout the trendy place. We chatted with the bartenders about the Timberwolves since we were seeing a game later in the week, and the staff was upbeat and boasting about their town.

The concierge had a wonderful breakfast the next morning, and my morning trip to the gym showed me it was modern and had state of the art equipment.

The valet staff really threw this hotel over the top for me though.  He was very helpful with my four bags, the car, and finding out the weather for me for our way down to Rochester.

Stephen arrived back from his meetings and everything was ready to go.  Great service, great hotel.  You can’t go wrong with the Autograph!

Later in the week, we got to go to that Timberwolves game.  While we were in Houston, we had met Pat Zipfel, the advance scout for the Timberwolves on the way to the Houston Rockets game.  He told us that if we were ever in Minneapolis, he could get us tickets to a game.  We said we would be there in February and he mailed us four right away.

We took a couple of our auctioneers with us to the game and it turns out they were friends with the announcer for the Timberwolves Rod Johnson.  Rod was kind enough to give a “backstage” tour before the game of the offices and the locker room (well not in the locker room…a girl can only dream, sigh).

It was seriously such a great opportunity! Thank you so much to Pat and Rod for making this such a memorable day.  The Timberwolves really are an outstanding organization.
