Boston

Boston

This was my first time in Boston! Stephen was going to be in meetings all day, and I was going to be on my own the majority of the time.

The Ritz is always a little safe haven for me so we used our Amex points to stay at The Ritz at Boston Common.

We arrived and were greeted with all the comforts of the Ritz.  The room was nice, though a little small, and the staff always smiling and helpful.

One nice thing about this Ritz is the gym.  The hotel is connected to the SportsClub LA so I got to do my morning stepmill workout high in the sky in a state of the art gym overlooking the this beautiful city.

We had a great time in Boston. We walked over to Chinatown and ate at one of those restaurants where the sign was only in Chinese and ducks were hanging in the window.

Stephen had to work after that so I was left to explore and play!

First stop?… Cheers!

How can you go to Boston and not at least see the original Cheers bar.  I know this girl can’t!

Stephen went off to his meetings and I went straight there.  I was sooooo excited!!!!

Being a big fan of the show (I’m pretty sure I saw every episode!), I couldn’t wait to check it out.  The entrance looked exactly like the set, but the inside had a completely different set-up.

It was much smaller than the bar on the set, but Hollywood tends to exaggerate, right?… I mean, there’s no way Monica and Rachel could have afforded that huge two bedroom in the middle of Manhattan on Friends, right?!?!…

In no way did this stifle my excitement though. There were a couple of Boston bartenders talking sports.  The lighting was dim, and the atmosphere was laid-back.

There were plenty of tourists in there as well, but I guess I couldn’t complain.

They just wanted to the same thing I did: to have a beer at the bar. I took a picture, and left smiling.  One more bucket list item checked!

When Stephen finished his meetings, we met at Teatro, a restaurant that had been recommended by a friend who used to live in Boston.

It’s right around the corner from the Ritz Carlton and right on Boston Common.

We had a gorgeous meal!

We, of course, started with the pizza. It tasted like it had been transported straight out of Napoli…Happy Sigh…

For a main, I had the pumpkin tortellini, and it was de-lish.

The decor was beautiful with a mood setting ceiling.  I will definitely be back.

Overall, this trip to Boston was a success.

Maybe next time, we can try to go Fenway Park or see that dreamy Tom Brady throw a touchdown for the Patriots.  Either way, we’ll be back!
