Montreal
Stephen had meetings in Montreal, and I was more than happy to go explore on my own. I had heard so much about Montreal and the city beneath the city. (It gets so cold in Montreal in the winter that they have this underground part where you can shop and get around without having to go outside.)
We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Montreal. It was reasonably priced so we were able to a get suite. The room was nice and clean, and the doorman was very helpful. He gave me maps and advice on where to go.
I found a tunnel and down I went.
Basically at the level of a subway, there is whole mall of shops. I absolutely love how trendy Montreal culture is so of course, I did some shopping. My favorite was the department store The Bay. It ‘s like a Nordstrom’s here in the States.
Emerging from the tunnels, I decided to sight see. I walked to the port and had a crepe at the Muru Café. Then I spent some time touring the Notre Dame Basilica of Montreal, pictured above. It was breathtaking.
Later that night, our clients invited us to dinner at Gibby’s. Gibby’s is a staple in Old Montreal. Tres pricey, tres chic, and tres delicious! (That’s about as much French as I know: Tres and Oui…oh and merci.)
I started with the onion soup and then had the shrimp for my main. I’m usually so elegant at these meals, but I completely dropped my fork on the floor in the middle of the dinner. Tres embarrassing.
I loved Montreal! I loved it so much that I hired the company that we went to dinner with to build my beautiful website.
Thank you Vortex Solutions! I can’t wait to visit Montreal again!
